The 2016-2017 school year is flying by, and before we realize it summer will
here. Spring is a busy time of year for our students, faculty, and staff. SAGE
end of level testing started last week, with 6th Grade Language Arts, and will
conclude in May with Math. As the Principal at Fossil Ridge, I am confident
that our students have learned the necessary skills and concepts to be successful!
Our teachers have worked together in content area teams throughout the year to
create GVC's (Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum), Learning Targets, effective
instructional strategies, common assessments that check for student understanding,
and REACH Time interventions and extensions strategies. This Learning Cycle
enables our teacher teams to meet the needs of each individual student, no
matter their current level of proficiency. At Fossil Ridge our purpose is to
"Ensure that All Students are Learning at High Levels." We are all
committed to doing whatever it takes to guarantee student achievement.
So, when you get a chance, talk with your student about what they are learning
here at Fossil Ridge. You will be amazed at all the skills and concepts your student
has become proficient in...let them share this new knowledge, let them explain
how REACH Time has helped them as a student, and sit back and allow your
student to pat himself/herself on the back for a job well done! Have a Great
Week, and as always...BE EXCELLENT!
